It took me a whole year to make all the patches I needed for this quilt. Then it took another 24 hours just to make the border. It seemed like the project would never end. So to anyone who thinks their effort won't amount to anything, just remember small, daily actions will get you to your goals. Trust the process.

Such a pretty place and maybe not-so-hidden gem, but absolutely worth a visit during anytime of the year. In winter, there's the famed Christmas markets featuring designer A-frame cedar chalets. Let's just say I really want one of those A-frame huts as my cottage, except on a larger scale, and placed somewhere backing onto the mountains and facing the water. Well, we can all dream right? The town has a stunning #eloramillspa with views of the Elora gorge. I haven't visited it yet, but it's on my list of things to eventually get to. There are great restaurants all around from low-, to mid-, to fine-dining. For a relaxed, no fuss, but scrumptious meal, try the Legion where the food and beer was great, and proceeds go to supporting Veterans and their families and the local community.

Don't miss the following if you're visiting Niagara-on-the-Lake in winter:
1. Beau Chapeau hat shop. Hundreds of different hat styles for all seasons and styles. You'll definitely find some worthwhile hats here for all your travel needs from practical to extremely fashionable. There's a workshop right inside where you can see how the hats are made.
2. Cheese Secrets. A cheese shop featuring Canadian made cheeses right from the Niagara region.
3. Olde Angel Inn. A local pub serving classic, hearty, British fare since 1789. I had the steak guinness and onion pie and yes, it was filling, but delicious and it's what you need after taking photos out in the cold.
